Turmeric Chai Tea Latte

Chai lattes are so flavorful! But chai lattes are only as good as the spices that are used to make them. Chai is originally based from India and its history dates back 5,000 years to the ancient courts of Siam and India. Legend has it that a king had the recipe concocted in a quest to create a healing beverage. Indeed, chai is very healing. Homemade chai latte is like a pharmacy in a cup. Each of the spices have science based medicinal benefits. For ex) turmeric is anti-inflammatory, ginger is anti-microbial, all spice is anti-carcinogenic. Imagine drinking an amazing homemade chai tea latte everyday. With this chai tea latte mix, you can because it is so easy and more flavorful and authentic than store brought.

By making chai tea lattes at home, you can appreciate the rich myriad of spices involved and also make sure that the spices used are indeed fresh and best tasting. For the spices I grinded the cloves, cardamom and all spice. It is best to buy such spices in whole form and keep them in an air tight container. When you are ready to use them grind them as you go so the oxygenation doesn’t spoil the spice sooner. Whole spices can last 3 months more! They also taste and smell amazing when ground since the natural oils of the spices are more intact. Not too mention chai tea lattes mixes in the store have plenty of sugar and artificial flavoring and preservatives. Just make this chai tea latte mix and store the mix in an air-tight container after making it to enjoy time and time again with family and friends!
